Lorraine (Lorie) M. Gaouette, 67, entered into eternal rest on June 28th. She was the beloved wife of Raymond for 47 years. Lorraine was the daughter of the late Germain Berthelette and Helene Gingras and the sister of the late Louis Berthelette.
Prior to working for many years in the warehouse of Ann & Hope, Lorraine served the priests of St. Matthew’s parish in Central Falls as the cook. Her children have fond memories of sick days spent at the rectory while she worked.
Lorraine was a feisty woman, full of life with a generous and loving heart. If Ray would have let her, the Christmas tree would have stayed up year-round and Father Pat’s music would continuously play in the background. Lorraine was a devout Catholic who enjoyed serving the community through the Marriage Prep Program where she and Ray prepared young couples for the sacrament.
In addition to her husband, Lorraine leaves behind her children: Thomas and his wife Kelly, Jennifer and her husband Marc, Jonathan and his wife Anjanie and Jessica and her husband Raymond; her grandchildren: Tyler, Jeremy, Justin, Jayden, Kaylee and Aaron; her siblings: Pauline and her husband John, Donald and his wife Carroll and Lisa and her husband David; her sister-in-law Cindy, many nieces and nephews, friends and extended family and her faithful dog Katy. She will be deeply missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday July 6th from 4:00 – 7:00pm at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Ave., Lincoln, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00am on Thursday July 7th in St Teresa of the Child Jesus Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, RI. Please gather directly at church. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
